Empty Nest

Five advantages of an empty nest:
1. Food lasts a whole lot longer and you only have to cook for two.
2. The house stays neater and cleaner.
3. You can have the house quiet or listen to whatever music you like.
4. You can walk around the house in your P.J.'s or whatever.
5. You can use the computer whenever you want because it's always free.

If all those advantages are so great, then why am I missing making food for a bunch and having to keep running to the store for more, in a really messy house, and not being able to use my kitchen or computer early in the morning because someone is sleeping in the den?

Apparently, I must prefer my house to look the way it looked earlier today...

HUGE HUGS for you, Kathy...I can't say I know how you feel since I'm not a mother yet.

I remember my parents telling me that their grocery bill was cut in half when I moved out. Being a parent of a 2 year old is awesome, but somedays I really miss my wife. It's funny how we can be in together all day and not get a word in.

In regards to my myspace...I found that one day when I googled my name. As a Christian I don't beleive in reincarnation but there are a whole lot of coincidences in that article. He was the same age I was when he got married. Ebeneezer Church is also the name ofthe church my grandparents go to. He lived in Bradley county and I went to Bradley Academy. He died in 1880 and I was born 100 years later in 1980. It's fun to tell people to google my name because it freaks them out. I love it...I think it's hilarious.

Blessings

Thanks to all for your compassion! I'm really okay with the empty nest, it's just that it's soooo EMPTY and quiet right after they leave. But I have to admit, I enjoy having my house to myself also.

You're such a Mom. There's a reason why we revere the institutin of motherhood so much. I'm going to call my Ma right now.

I've been there for a semester. Then one decided to commute to college. Just the other day I said. I miss the empty-nest. Yes I missed having them home but I also enjoyed the time hubby and I had. It goes to show you can't have the best of both worlds.

I am sorry that you have an empty house right now. I get to feeling that way sometimes when friends dont stop by because I am use to them being over everyday. I do have to say that I loved the music they were playing. It sounded great! :)
