Angels

Do you believe in angels? My answer to that question is how can I not believe in angels if I believe the Bible. Don't get me wrong -- I do not worship angels, I don't pray to angels, and I don't put my faith and trust in angels. I worship my savior Jesus Christ, I pray to God in Jesus' name, and I put my faith and trust in Him. However, I do find the subject of angels very interesting. There are a lot of references to angels in the Bible and it seems they have many different jobs to perform. I love hearing stories about people in tough situations and then a person sort of comes along and helps them and then they're gone. In the Bible angels sometimes took on the form of men to carry out a task.

I like to think about guardian angels. There is a verse in Psalm 91 that made me start thinking about this. Here is the verse: For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. When I pray for protection for my kids, I always include asking God to send guardian angels with them. I have even been known to ask God to surround my house with angels that look like Rottweilers so that any would-be intruders would be scared away. I really did that one day last week when the deadbolt on my house door wouldn't lock. Okay, I may be carrying it a little too far with that, but I do believe in guardian angels. Click on the word ANGELS if you'd like to read more about them and get some scripture references.

I wish I had a spectacular personal angel story to share, but mine is a simple one. It was Christmas Eve 1987. We had just brought our baby girl home from the hospital. She was four months old and had spent most of those four months in the hospital. I was not able to work during that time so we didn't have the income that I would have normally contributed to the family. Also, we knew the hospital bills would be coming soon. But as we came home that Christmas Eve day, we found a gift on the ground in front of our door. We opened it and found 100 one dollar bills in there and it only said it was from the Christmas angel. That might not sound like a lot of money now, but it was a lot to us then and it was very special. To this day I have no idea who left it there for us.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2

That's an awesome story. I believe in guardian angels too as per the Bible. It's unfortunate that many people revere angels as much or more than God. i think it's partly because they're very existence is kind of mysterious... why did God create them anyway? He didn't NEED them to help him protect people, yet He uses them to do that.

Nina, from that website that has more info about angels, it seems that the Greek word for angel means messenger. So maybe God created them to be messengers as well as other things. The Bible also says that all things have been created by Him and for Him. I'm just guessing, though. I suppose we'll find out the answer to all our questions when we get to heaven.

I believe in angels, too...I believe in "angels" and angels on earth...those people that God has sent to make our days a little or much easier...whose hearts God have moved to help us even when they don't really know they're doing it. :-))))

LOVE your angel story. ;-D

That is a beautiful experience and I do know, for a fact, it was an angel. Or a group of angels. We never know. But our dear Lord knows exactly what we need and hey, he knew exactly who and when to send you what you needed!

Thank you for sharing this precious story with us!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful testimony of God's grace. I DO believe in angels. I DO believe there are guardian angels. I have personally experienced God's grace when there could be no other explanation except that we were sheltered by at least one humongous guardian angel!

Blessings!

COMMANDING ANGELS

“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? {Hebrews 1: 14}.
Yes, angels play a great part in helping Christians to live in this world; The Lord showed me in a dream vision on how to command angels to make life easier. I was walking in a beautiful garden with God our heavenly Father, He was very tall, I could not see His face but I knew that it was God. He said to me, “Angels must be sent out with the voice of authority”. He showed me many butterflies in His beautiful garden, and He said, “Tell them to go”. So I said, “go”, just a few took off.
Then He said, “ This is not the way”, and He put one of His hands behind Him, and then brought it forward forcefully with the voice of authority, and said “ GO”, and a great multitude which could not be numbered took off, then He raised His other hand and repeated, “GO”, another great multitude took flight. Still He was not finished, then He raised both hands behind His head, then bringing them forward with such force and with a mighty voice of authority, He said, “GO”, and all you could see was butterflies filling the air.
He then turned to me and said, “This is how you must send my angels out before you with the voice of authority”. Many times I have sent these angelic beings out with the voice of authority, commanding them to go in the mighty name of Jesus, and they have never failed to obey, no matter how big or small the task might be, let us always remember that we have a great heavenly host ready to go into action in and through the mighty name of Jesus. So you see angels are to minister, yes serve us, for we are the heirs of salvation, the chosen ones, and we are to send them forth as the Bible says in {Hebrews 1 v 14}.
