Dear John

I love to read books, though it seems like now I'm reading more blogs than books. But if you like to read I would definitely recommend the book Dear John by Nicolas Sparks. I've read a lot of his books and seen the ones that were made into movies like A Walk to Remember and The Notebook. He is a great writer and I'm not sure why, but there is something so peaceful about reading his books. Dear John is my favorite so far of all his books that I've read and I would highly recommend it. And now I am so excited because as I was just now looking up the link for that book, I found out that he has a new book called The Choice coming out Sept. 25, just in time for my birthday!

So, a note to my family......since you already bought me Journey's Greatest Hits, I think this new book by Nicolas Sparks would be a great birthday present!

Can you recommend any good books you've read? I would love comments!

I'm also an avid reader...I have book recommendations coming out of my ears! I would say that my favorite book read in the last 6 mths would be Redeeming Love by
Francine Rivers. It is unbelievable! If you have not read it, I would definitely recommend it.

Thanks Katie! I have read Redeeming Love, and that is an awesome book. After reading it, I read everything I could get my hands on by Fancine Rivers.

Here are two books, which I've recently read, and, think you'll enjoy.

Any book by Jodi Picoult, (Particularly, "My Sister Keeper," or, "The Tenth Circle.")

Also, "The Witch of Portobello," by Paulo Coelho, will keep you turning pages, while at the same time, giving you lot's to think upon ~~it is a fansinating book, of many voices.

Picoult & Coelho, both challenge our perceptions/assumptions of their characters, through the use of POV [point of view]. Their books tell the story, through the voice of each individual character.

This makes for a very enjoyable read.

Have a great Summer.

best wishes,
b.

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is by far my favorite book. The first time I read it - I had to stop close to the end because I couldn't see the pages for crying! If you have not read any of Karen Kingsbury - you need to. The Redemption Series and the Firstborn Series are absolutely phenomenal. Also the 2 books about 9/11 are must reads! Actually - everything I have read of hers have been wonderful. She is an awesome Christian author!

Strawberry, I totally agree with you on those books. I have read all the of the Redemption series, and just finished the 2nd book of Firstborn. I cannot wait to get into the next book because I'm so ready for Dayne to meet his family and for Dayne and Katy to get together!

I agree with Beginning with "B". Paulo Coelho's books definitely set us thinking about different perspectives.

If you wanna read something with a religious theme, read Coelho's "The Devil and Miss Prym". I enjoyed it IMMENSELY though I hoped the ending could've been slightly different he he he...
