Snow

We only got a little bit of snow because most of it happened north of here. But it was fun watching it come down while it lasted. The only problem is that when it started I was in the middle of playing at a funeral and I kept looking at the front door of the church during the service to see if it was still snowing. I was having visions of snow covered roads and thinking I would be sliding all around while driving home. But when I got out there, the roads were only wet. It didn't last long because our temperatures weren't quite down to freezing, but here are the pictures. The first is my backyard, the second one is my husband's 1992 Jeep Cherokee. The last picture is one of my sister's family -- they live a few miles north of me and got enough to make a southern style snowman (she had the wrong date on the camera - it was actually January 19).

Love the southern snowman. We've made plenty of those. They're a little skinny compared to their northern cousins, but a lot of fun for kids who hardly ever see snow.
Obviously we get more than you, but still my younger kids haven't seen more than 3 or 4 really good snows in their lives. When I was a kid growing up we got a lot more.

We don't get much snow in Portland. Fortunately, we can always drive an hour to Mt. Hood and have snow anytime of the year.

Hi Kathy
Yeah, our southern snowmen lack a little girth in comparison to the others but I am so glad we got to make them!!!
